West Australian hardcore punk luminaries Scalphunter unleash hell on the unsuspecting and not-so-innocent in their relentless, bloody (and bloody good) video for new single There Will Be Change, proudly premiering today on theMusic.com.au.
Taken from their third EP, the Steve Browne-directed video for There Will Be Change finds the WAM Award-nominated act providing the soundtrack to a masked, Scarecrow-esque vigilante on a rampage, like Michael Douglas in Falling Down, only in the woods, where no one can hear you scream.
"It's a song bred from disenfranchised youth's frustration at corporations, religions and governments refusing to listen to the voices of millions," the band's tank-like frontman, Steven Knoth, said of the track. "The video is an expression of the need to fight for that change."
If you're local to the region, you may be chuffed to know the band will also be staging launch shows in support of the single and its video. The first will take place, fittingly, on Friday, June 13, at the Rosemount Hotel in North Perth. Support comes from The Novocaines, Them Sharks, The Bob Gordons and Blåckwitch; there will be prizes for the best horror-themed outfit; and it'll set you back $15 on the door (event page).
The following evening, Scalphunter will be joined by Blåckwitch, Cashrat and Renegade Girl at the Prince Of Wales, Bunbury, and entry is free - so you have two opportunities to head along to support the genre-straddling juggernauts, and probably fewer excuses to not.
Keep on top of all happenings Scalphunter at the band's official Facebook page.
