The Music chooses one song every week as its Power Pick, shining a light on ONE Aussie song that we think has the potential to be the next big Australian chart hit.

They say when you’re hot, you’re hot, and that’s certainly the case of Victorian producer Tobiahs, who has nabbed his second Power Pick of the year with his second single of 2026.
Hot off the press just a few days ago, Where You Really Come From is a bit of a sonic shift from June’s Stay With Me Through The Night, but it’s an instant classic nonetheless.
Stripped back and darker, it utilises the vocals of hometown hero VV-Ace to craft a cut which has already become a staple of recent sets, winning over US crowds at the likes of his Outside Lands and SummerStage slots of late,
“Ace is a serious talent, he laid down this track in like 10 minutes and I even wanted to use his outtakes as the intro,” Tobiahs said of his talented collaborator. “Honoured to have him on this one, it’s been a consistent highlight of my recent sets."
"From the instruments to the production, I instantly knew there was something special about this song,” echoed VV-Ace. “I only heard the melody and immediately started writing to it.
“Tobiahs and I flowed really naturally throughout the whole process, which you can even hear at the beginning of the track. I knew what I wanted to say, but it took a few tries to get it out the right way. We probably went through six or seven different ideas that session, but this was definitely the one that left a mark on both of us."
“For his second track of the year, Tobiahs has continued to bring the heat with Where You Really Come From, featuring VV-Ace,” offers Brenton Larney of The Breaking Through Podcast. “He continues to prove why he’s one of our most underrated producers.
“It’s a track that will have everyone asking what the ID is, and it’s going to hit even harder when he brings it to Spilt Milk at the end of the year. Expect to hear it in plenty of summer festival sets, because this one was made for a crowd.”
CHART UPDATE
It's a little bit of a freeze at the top end of the Radio Monitor Hot 100 chart this week, but that only means good things for our locals, with G Flip holding steady at the top end with Bed On Fire for the third week in a row.
Again, Temper City's Self Aware is ahead of Olivia Rodrigo's stupid song to round out the podium for the current chart, while Bruno Mars’ On My Soul remains at No. 4 once again.
There's a lot of moves after that, however. Local sensation Sonny Fodera jumps one spot to No. 15 with his Becky Hill-featuring Say Something, while previous chart-topper Josh Fawaz drops two places lower to No. 23 with his controversial Like A Prayer rework.
CYRIL's Breathless drops three spots to No. 29, while Tame Impala's Loser drops four places to No. 32. Previous Power Pick Yes Boone is a slight winner, as Nosebleeds jumps two spots to No. 34, though Tame Impala's Dracula drops five spots to No. 36.
There's better news in the 40s, however. Last week's Power Pick – Troye Sivan's Party – debuts at No. 40, while Fodera jumps eight spots back into the top 50 with Think About Us at No. 43. The Tullamarines lose one spot as Flight Path slips to No. 44, though Daine's Love Love jumps 15 spots to No. 46 and Julia Jacklin's The Hardest Thing rounds out the local top 50 at No. 49.
Over on the ARIA Singles chart, it's once again the Tame Impala show, with Kevin Parker the only local in the top 50. Loser drops four spots to No. 13, while Dracula follows suit, falling four spots to No. 25.
