The hardcore legends will break the hiatus on which they embarked in 2010 this year
Florida-bred experimental hardcore luminaries Poison The Well have announced that they will be reconvening for the first time since 2010 to perform at New Jersey's forthcoming Skate & Surf Festival in May, though have remained playfully ambiguous about their plans beyond the event.
Taking to Facebook in the wee hours of this morning (AEST), the band explained that they would be performing at the festival, and that "we'll probably play some more shows and make another record", before throwing the curve ball and contradicting themselves, saying: "Well, actually, we may not do any of that stuff, but we wanted to cover our asses and make sure we admitted to each cliche ahead of time."
Despite their apparent ambivalence, Poison The Well have since directed fans to their recently activated Instagram account, which seems like time and effort better spent on other pursuits if they're not planning anything beyond the once-off comeback for Skate & Surf (or perhaps that's just the wishful thinking of some kind of Australian sojourn talking).
Poison The Well originally formed in 1997, growing into one of the foremost acts on the international hardcore soundscape and pushing out five full-length albums over the 13 years to their hiatus: The Opposite Of December (1999), Tear From The Red (2002), breakthrough effort You Come Before You (2003), Versions (2007) and final release The Tropic Rot, which was released in 2009, the same year that the band made it Down Under for Soundwave.
