Peter Hook & The Light are returning to Australia in July 2026, bringing their critically acclaimed live show back to their fans Down Under once again. The band last toured Australia in May 2024, commemorating the New Order and Joy Division greatest hits albums of the same name, Substance.
Next year, Peter Hook and his band, The Light, will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the New Order album, Get Ready, which features the hits Crystal and 60 Miles An Hour. The group will perform the album in its entirety as well as a string of New Order and Joy Division hits.
The tour begins at Adelaide’s Hindley Street Music Hall on Monday, 13 July, and continues at Brisbane’s The Tivoli on Thursday, 16 July, Melbourne’s Palais Theatre on Friday, 17 July, Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Saturday, 18 July, and concludes at Perth’s Astor Theatre on Monday, 20 July.
Pre-sale tickets will be available on Thursday, 11 September, at 10 am local time ahead of the general sale on Monday, 15 September, at 10 am local time. You can find ticketing information on the Metropolis Touring website.

The Joy Division set will include beloved songs such as Disorder, She’s Lost Control, Shadowplay, Transmission, Atmosphere, Love Will Tear Us Apart, and more. Meanwhile, the New Order set will feature Ceremony, Bizarre Love Triangle, True Faith, Temptation, Blue Monday, and other tracks.
Peter Hook previously said of the enduring popularity of his band, “Fans come to see us because they love the sound… New Order doesn't sound like New Order, which I’m happy about — and also outraged.”
Peter Hook & The Light were formed in 2010, following the second breakup of New Order in 2007. The latter band reformed once more in 2011 and has been active since; however, Hook has not been involved at any point. Joy Division, on the other hand, ran for one continuous stint between 1976 and 1980.
