Peach PRC has returned with her first release for 2024, a glittering pop bop called Secret.

Like a lot of the fast-rising artist’s songs, this one tells a deeper story beneath its shimmery production and ultra-catchy hook: it’s about a relationship confined to the shadows, Peach having fallen for someone who doesn’t want anyone else to know they’re together.

She hints at homophobic parents and judgemental friends, questioning how long she can “keep on hiding like I’m something wrong”. She sings in the chorus: “I know you wanna keep it, your secret / And I would never speak it, your secret / You only wanna kiss me in your car / You only wanna love me in the dark / Keep it forever.”

Peach co-wrote Secret with Space Primates (Katy Perry, David Guetta) and Bonnie McKee (Perry, Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson), with whom she also penned her breakout hit Forever Drunk. The track was also produced by Space Primates, and arrives with an accompanying lyric video helmed by artist Lucy Ingham-Myers. Have a look at that below:

Secret follows up on the standalone single Like A Girl Does, which Peach released last November as the first track to chase her debut EP, Manic Dream Pixie (which itself arrived last April).

It comes ahead of Peach’s biggest-ever Australian tour, kicking off on Thursday March 21 with a sold-out gig at The Forum in Melbourne. She’ll play a second show there the next day (March 22) before rolling on through to Brisbane (playing the Fortitude Music Hall on Thursday March 28) and Sydney (Enmore Theatre on Friday April 5 and Saturday 6). Reviewing her set at this year’s Australian Open Finals Festival, TheMusic.com.au's Cyclone Wehner highlighted Peach’s show-stopping aesthetic: “Beyond any ‘girly camp pop’, the Adelaidian has a distinct pastel pink fairy princess aesthetic – more Sanrio's Hello Kitty than Barbie – and ethereal presence, today apparently attired as one of Dracula's brides or a wili from the ballet Giselle.”

Meanwhile, Peach recently joined the group of artists slamming Universal Music Group for wiping its recorded music catalogue from TikTok. She cut her teeth and rose to fame on the platform, before signing to UMG subsidiary Island Records.
