More Paramore More Paramore

Paramore have returned to the studio just months after releasing their sixth album, This Is Why, in February.

According to Paramore and vocalist Hayley Williams’ Instagram posts, the band seem to be in the middle of a creative peak and possibly already working on some bonus tracks to accompany This Is Why.

It’s not just Instagram photos we’re relying on, though: Williams confirmed that the band are working on something special in the studio on the band’s Discord account.

“We've been off the road for a couple weeks now... mainly in LA. Thankfully, got some down time, but we put some work in, too,” she wrote. “It felt good to get back into a studio. More of that once we get home to Nashville.”

Acknowledging her long-standing lung infection that forced Paramore to cancel two dates on their recent US tour, Williams continued, “I can hardly believe I don't cough all day and night anymore. My stomach is still fucked from 10 kinds of medication... I'm just happy to be resting more.

“Now that the bulk of our touring for the year is over, I'm hoping to dive head first into creating some better routines.”

Remaining cryptic enough while still instilling excitement in fans, she added, “Zac [Farro] Taylor [York] and I just want to get back to making things. We've been craving that for a while now. Not only the creative process but the layer(s) of insulation that can come with the creative process.”

You can read Williams's full Discord post below and check out the studio photos – one includes a piece of confetti with the word “WHY” from their live show over sheets of paper.

This Is Why debuted at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart and the Vinyl Albums Chart.

This Is Why is Paramore's third #1 album in Australia, following Brand New Eyes (2009) and Paramore (2013). Their 2017 album, After Laughter, debuted at #3. Their 2005 debut, All We Know Is Falling, failed to chart here but subsequently received a Gold certification. Riot! (2007) is also certified Gold in Australia and peaked at #47 upon release.

Paramore will tour Australia and New Zealand for the first time since 2018 this November with special guest Remi Wolf.

The tour spans from Saturday, 18 November, at Auckland’s Spark Arena, Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Wednesday, 22 and (new show) Thursday, 23 November, Sydney’s Domain on Saturday, 25 November, and Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on Monday 27 and (new show) Tuesday 28 November. The extra shows were added after the pre-sale was met with unprecedented demand.
