More RocKwiz (Live) More RocKwiz (Live)

It’s been exactly a week since tickets first went on sale for the latest RocKwiz LIVE! tour – quippily dubbed Never Mind The Buzzers – and just as we expected, they’ve been flying out the door. So, in the spirit of making sure everyone can enjoy Australia’s favourite music-based quiz show, a handful of new dates have been added to the itinerary.

At the time of writing, the first shows in Port Macquarie (scheduled for Saturday October 12 at the Glasshouse Theatre), Thirroul (Saturday October 26 at Anita’s Theatre), Brisbane (Saturday November 9 at the Fortitude Music Hall) and Canberra (Saturday November 23 at the Canberra Theatre) have all sold out. New shows have been added for the latter three of those cities, with Brisbane’s coming in the form of a matinee gig on the same day, and Thirroul’s and Canberra’s as second dates, respectively on Wednesday November 20 and Friday 22.

Tickets for the new shows go on sale at 10am AEST tomorrow (May 17), with tickets for all previously shows already available – head here to get your hands on tickets before the rest disappear.

As announced last week, the Never Mind The Buzzers tour will see hosts Julia Zemiro, Brian Nankervis and Dugald McAndrew joined by the ever-expanding RocKwiz OrKestra, all offering the unique chaos and quizzery that comes with the RocKwiz LIVE! experience.

In a press statement, Nankervis said of the critically acclaimed (and fan-adored) touring show: “There’s something very special about being on the road, playing beautiful theatres with a travelling company of artists, inviting audience members to be part of the action. On a RocKwiz tour, performing night after night, the shows develop and consolidate, but also twist and turn.

“We're constantly refining, evaluating the shows in hotel rooms and airport lounges. Late night singalongs might be rehearsed the next afternoon and performed that night. There’s nothing quite like a RocKwiz show. It’s a thrill to travel around Australia with this show we love. See you in the foyer!”

Last year saw RocKwiz (the TV show) return to our screens thanks to a Foxtel reboot. The program originally ran for 14 seasons on SBS between 2005 and 2016, but its live event has continued to sell out shows across the country and become a Bluesfest staple.

Zemiro previously called RocKwiz “the little train that could”. She explained: “It's one of the few times that a musician can be on TV, get their face out there, and you can get to know them. They remind people they're around, and we get them to do one of their own songs and then a duet which will surprise you, and that's always the real cherry on the cake for me.”
