Mullum Music Festival Announces Eco Initiatives For 2019 Event

Mullum Music Festival is furthering its commitment to looking after the environment, with the event today announcing their 2019 eco initiatives. 

The popular festival, which takes place in Mullumbimby in New South Wales, will offer patrons a number of ways to reduce their environmental impact throughout the event as well as providing education sessions. 

“Mullum Music Festival is serious about our environmental impact and we have been working with Mullum Cares, Renew Fest, Repower Byron Shire, Brunswick Landcare, Stone & Wood and The Byron Shire Council for many years now,” said festival director Glenn Wright. 

"It is our long term desire to have zero waste at our event."

“We can always do more, and each year we look to tackle new challenges. This year we are working on reducing the waste from our Festival Market Places and we have partnered with Mullum Cares to help us manage the sorting of rubbish and dispatch for least impact and maximum diversion from landfill."

Patrons are encouraged to bring along their own water bottles to the festival and take advantage of the refill stations, as well as taking part in the refundable cup deposit scheme available at all bars and in the Civic food precinct.  

This year's initiatives also include a nature walk, weaving workshop, contemplation panel and more. 

Mullum Music Festival takes place from 14-17 November 2019 with acts including Nano Stern, Mojo Juju, Wagons, Sibusile Xaba, Alysha Brilla, Emma Donovan & The Putbacks, Harry James Angus and more appearing. Head to theGuide for more info.
