Get that grey matter working.
Mullum Music Festival has teamed up with the sustainability-minded folks at Renew Fest to deliver this year's program of talks, walks and workshops at the November event.
Complementing the festival's considerable musical palette will be a range of thoughtful activities to get punters thinking about ways they can increase their sustainable activity in their daily lives, including nature walks through Saltwater Creek and the Brunswick River/Heritage Park, a weaving workshop, a dedicated look at waste and sustainability at festivals, ways to put "the heart and humanity" back into housing policy, and stories from the road to mental health recovery, among other activities.
Mullum has also signed on to Renew Fest's #REPOWER Byron Shire program, an attempt to achieve the implementation of 100% renewable energy sources in the area.
More than just talking, the festival is taking action on its environmental goals by joining the Green Music Australia-led campaign to #BYOBottle and take Mullum that much closer to becoming a plastic-free event.

In partnership with Stone & Wood and the Byron Shire Council, the festival will also inaugurate its 'For Cup's Sake' exchange initiative, implementing a region-first circular economy based around bars serving their drinks out of reusable cups.
Renew Fest is the brainchild of the Community-owned Renewable Energy Mullumbimby (COREM) group, who are dedicated to setting up community-owned renewable energy projects that generate funds to seed the development of future initiatives.
The 10th annual Mullum Music Festival will be held in Mullumbimby from 16-19 November, and feature performances from Marlon Williams & The Yarra Benders, All Our Exes Live In Texas, Frazey Ford, Jon Cleary & The Monster Gentlemen and more.
