The celebrated US pop-punk/emo quartet have unveiled three revised dates Down Under in a couple of months' time
Venerated Philadelphia pop-punk lords Modern Baseball are making good on their intent to finally make their debut performances Down Under after some setbacks last year, announcing today a three-date east-coast tour for this April.
Getting under way in Sydney at the Oxford Art Factory on Thursday 7 April, the four-piece will head up to Brisbane to perform at Crowbar on Friday 8 April before turning around and hitting Melbourne's Reverence Hotel for the third and final performance of the whirlwind tour, on Saturday 9 April.
The band had been scheduled to make their maiden voyage to Australia for last September's Poison City Weekender before health concerns put the kibosh on those plans, but patient fans look to be rewarded not only with rescheduled shows but a new album, with Modern Baseball also planning to release their eagerly awaited third studio full-length, Holy Ghost, this year.
If the group's progression from their undeniably solid debut, 2012's Sports, to their widely acclaimed follow-up, You're Gonna Miss It All (2014), is anything to go by, it's safe to assume that their third time at bat will be yet another demonstration of Modern Baseball's continuously growing prowess at crafting infectious, intelligent, offbeat and relatable tunes that regularly pit the excitement of youth against the ennui of ageing — to stellar results.
Tickets for all three of Modern Baseball's debut Australian shows are on sale now (Sydney/Brisbane/Melbourne).
