Mumford? Grinspoon? Muse?
This week's chart will mark the final week of September releases – and the month has seen some of the biggest names in the business dropping new releases and scrambling for positions.
This week is no different – there's new releases from Muse (The 2nd Law), Grinspoon (Black Rabbits), Lupe Fiasco (Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album) and Cody Simpson (Paradise) charging into the charts (and probably the top ten) but current number one Pink's The Truth About Love is going to be hard to beat.
The honourary Australian announced a massive tour for next year and is playing an intimate showcase show in Melbourne today. You'd think from there she'd be hard to beat but the midweek figures are indicating its still up in the air. Mumford & Sons's Babel is dominating streaming services (according to Spotify, one in ten of their users have streamed Babel) and Birdy's Birdy refuses to go away, and Green Day's Uno! looks set to hold a solid position.
The midweek numbers indicate that Psy's virus-of-a-song Gangnam Style and Guy Sebastian and Lupe Fiasco's Battle Scars will battle for the top spot. Boyband phenomenon One Direction's have dropped a new track – Live While We're Young – though and can't be discounted, neither can rugby league Grand Final performers The Script with Hall Of Fame and Birdy's Bon Iver cover Skinny Love. Rita Ora has also got a boost for R.I.P (with Tinie Tempah) thanks to her visit down under.
