Midnight Oil and Teen Jesus And The Jean Teasers have joined forces with Green Music Australia to launch a new “No Music On A Dead Planet” t-shirt fundraising campaign.
The two bands designed the new limited-edition shirts, which are available to pre-order today until Monday, 9 December, at midnight AEDT. You can check out the designs below and purchase your shirt here.
According to a press release, the Power And The Passion and Girl Sports bands are the first in a fresh series of artist merchandise collaborations, with Green Music Australia working to raise funds to help mobilise the music community when it comes to urgent climate action.
The t-shirts have been manufactured on 100% recycled garments by Tmorrow Apparel and printed via water-based and eco-friendly inks through Merch Jungle.
Originally launched in 2021 by Music Declares Emergency, the No Music On A Dead Planet movement doesn’t just inspire people to wear shirts with an eye-catching slogan; it also encourages the global music community to call for climate action. Artists including Billie Eilish, Thom Yorke, and Joy Division have collaborated on the campaign. A “no brat on a dead planet” shirt, referencing Charli XCX’s hit album, is also on the Merch Jungle website.
In a statement, Teen Jesus And The Jean Teasers said they want to “lead by example” and make changes in sustainability.

Of their collaboration with Green Music Australia, they explained: “In September, [bassist] Jaida [Stephenson] attended Green Music's Sound Country Retreat, and it was a real eye-opener for us. It helped us see the impact we can make as artists committed to environmental change.
“As a band, we want to lead by example in the sustainability space. The NO MUSIC ON A DEAD PLANET message is a powerful reminder that without a healthy planet, there’s no future for any of us—or for music. For us, it's about ensuring that the art we create isn’t at the expense of the world we all share.”
Midnight Oil’s Rob Hirst added, “With climate change leadership set to fail in the U.S.A., it’s even more urgent for the rest of the world to step up. Green Music Australia says, ‘Stay the course with renewables’, and I’m proud to be a patron of this progressive and positive organisation.”
