British death metal band Ingested have postponed their upcoming Australian tour due to “unforeseen personal and logistical circumstances.”

The band shared the news on social media on Monday (23 June), announcing they were also postponing tour dates in Asia. Ingested were set to be one of the headliners at this year’s metal and punk-focused Cold Day Festival in Brisbane, and while the event is still going ahead, punters can access refunds as Ingested are no longer on the bill.

Ingested were also set to perform at Melbourne’s Max Watts on Thursday, 24 July (with special guests Algor Mortis, Gutless, and Growth), Sydney’s Crowbar on Friday, 25 July (with Algor Mortis, Slaughtercult, and Gosika), and co-headline Cold Day Festival at The Triffid on Saturday, 26 July (alongside Shackles, Gutless, I Exist, and more).

The tour was also set to mark the band’s first-ever headline run in Australia. “With heavy hearts, we must announce the postponement of our upcoming Asia & Australia tour,” Ingested wrote on Instagram yesterday.

Their statement continued, “Over the past few months, we’ve done everything we can behind the scenes to prepare for our tour of Asia and Australia.

“But after an intense year of nonstop touring across the globe, some unforeseen personal and logistical circumstances have forced us to hit pause.”

The band added that the decision to postpone the tour wasn’t one they made lightly, adding that they’ve never done it before. But for the sake of their health and “integrity of the show,” the tour has been postponed.

“These shows are not cancelled, they are being rescheduled, and we’re already working hard to lock in new dates that we’ll announce as soon as possible,” the band continued.

Purchased tickets to the Melbourne and Sydney shows will be refunded at the point of purchase, and Cold Day Festival ticket holders will be offered refunds upon request.

Ingested concluded their post, “We want to thank everyone who was instrumental in putting this tour together: our agents, promoters, venues, and most importantly, every single one of you who bought a ticket and supported us. We’re gutted, but we’ll be back.”

Since their formation in 2006, Ingested have released seven albums, with their most recent album, The Tide Of Death And Fractured Dreams, released in 2024.
