The City of Melbourne has confirmed that Melbourne Music Week (MMW) will return this year "with a dynamic and innovative program that directly responds to the challenges our industry faces" due to the COVID pandemic.

Scheduled for 18-22 November, the 2020 MMW will feature an all Australian and New Zealand line-up for the first time ever.

"Reconnecting and rebuilding our sense of community will form the basis of our programming as we shine a light on the Melbourne music scene and stage events that will strive to be impactful and intimately memorable," a statement posted on the City Of Melbourne website reads.

"We believe in the power of music as an antidote to heal and repair.

"Crystalising our vision for 2020, we say farewell to the MMW Hub and dedicate all our efforts on supporting and showcasing our city’s beloved music and cultural venues."

The 2019 MMW featured a line-up that included CC:Disco!, Robin Fox, Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft (DAF), Total Control, Sarah Mary Chadwick, Tiny Ruins, Stonefield and Body Type.
