Luca Brasi & King Gizz Debut In Top Two Spots On Aussie Indie Albums Chart

Some strong new releases among The Sia & Flume Show

More Luca Brasi Luca Brasi

Tassie punk-rockers Luca Brasi have taken out the top album spot on debut on the Carlton Dry Independent Music Charts with their third long-player, If This Is All We're Going To Be, ahead of a national tour that kicks off in Sydney next month.

It is a good week too for Melbourne psychedelic sorcerers King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, who scored the #2 album spot, also on debut, with Nonagon Infinity.

The release — their eighth full-length in four years — is a now-typical boon for the hard-working septet, who are currently on a tour of North America and the UK.

The album chart also sees Sia continue her dominance by taking #3 and #5 with This Is Acting and 1000 Forms Of Fear, respectively. The Cat Empire enjoy another strong week with Rising With The Sun claiming the #4 spot.

In other chart movement, veteran folk favourites The Waifs re-entered the chart at #20 with last year's Beautiful You.

The singles list sees two top-20 debuts with Hein Cooper's Rusty taking #14 and Urthboy taking #16 with Daughter Of The Light (feat. Kira Puru).

The top five remains relatively unchanged from last week, as Flume's Say It (feat. Tove Lo) and Never Be Like You (feat. Kai) nab #1 and #3, respectively, and Sia's Cheap Thrills (#2), The Temper Trap's Fall Together (#4) and The Rubens' Hoops (#5) complete the pointy end.

Flume also bags a third top-10 showing with Smoke & Retribution (feat. Vince Staples & Kucka) at #10 and Chet Faker re-enters the chart with his 2014 hit Talk Is Cheap.
