The Masked Singer's reign might be over for the season but its success lives on with the newly-launched Australian show today picking up an AACTA Award nomination for Best Entertainment Program.
The show, which wrapped its first season on Monday night (you'll definitely want to read this recap), has some competition for the category though with Hard Quiz, Lego Masters Australia, Australian Ninja Warrior and Australia's Got Talent all in the running. The show has also picked up a nomination for Best Costume Design In Television.
Formerly known as the AFI Awards, this prestigious ceremony celebrate the best of Australian television and film, with a heavy focus on production.
Actor Damon Herriman, who has experienced breakout success in the US this year playing Charles Manson in both Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon A Time In Hollywood and Netflix's Mindhunter, has picked up a total of four individual for his work across Judy & Punch, The Nightingale, Mr Inbetween and Lambs Of God.
This is the most nominations a performer has received in a single year. The Music caught up with up Herriman earlier this year to talk about how he became one of Australia’s most in-demand actors.

Lambs Of God leads the nominations this year with a whopping 18 nods, including Best Lead Actress, Best Lead Actor, Best Editing, Best Original Score, Best Screenplay In Television and more.
Richard Lowenstein's Michael Hutchence documentary Mystify has picked up three nominations, including Best Documentary, Best Editing in a Documentary and Best Sound in a Documentary.
Actress and comedian Celia Pacquola has been nominated against herself in the Best Performance In A Television Comedy for her work in both Rosehaven and Utopia. This is her sixth consecutive year as a nominee in this category, which has seen her pick up two awards.
New ABC show Frayed has picked up five nominations, including Best Comedy Program, Best Original Score In Television and more. The Music spoke with star Sarah Kendall last week, read the interview here.
Also scoring nominations this year is Miranda Tapsell, comedy trio Aunty Donna, Deborah Mailman, Alison Bell, Rachel Griffiths, Jacki Weaver and more.
"AFI | AACTA continues to celebrate the excellence of our industry with a total 57 awards recognising excellence across all industry sectors, including feature film, television, documentary, short film, online, visual effects and animation," said AFI | AACTA CEO Damian Trewhella.
"We’re thrilled to see such a wealth of diverse productions at this year’s Awards, all of extremely high-quality and many of which have received global recognition.
"This year our awards have expanded to include new entertainment categories that cater to Australia’s ever evolving and exciting screen landscape. From emerging to established practitioners and performers, this year’s nominees are a testament to the strength of the Australian screen industry and we look forward to celebrating their impressive achievements and the talents at our upcoming Awards."
