In early May, Lorde announced her Ultrasound World Tour, which will feature 38 shows across the US, UK and Europe in support of her new album, Virgin, out tomorrow via EMI Music Australia.

However, to Australian and New Zealand fans’ dismay, Lorde’s home country and neighbour over the ditch were missing from the announcement.

With additional shows now also added for New York in December after the world tour kicks off in September, the question remains when the Royals singer will make the trek back Down Under, especially after making worldwide news after her last trip, crashing a Lorde-themed club night in Sydney.

In a recent interview with The Music, Lorde responded to the question of whether there would be good tour news for her Australian and New Zealand fans, “No news coming soon.”

However, she followed up her answer with: “I have never not toured Australia and New Zealand, so hopefully, people can click that all together.”

While Australian and New Zealand tour dates may not be arriving any time soon, fans can rest assured that they won’t be left out of the mix and can anticipate Lorde making her return likely in 2026.

Lorde last toured Australia in March 2023, in support of her 2021 album Solar Power. That tour marked her first shows Down Under in six years.

Lorde has released three singles in the lead-up to the release of Virgin: What Was That, Man Of The Year, and Hammer—the latter of which is the album opener.

Virgin marks Lorde’s first full-length release in four years. For her new album, she teamed up with collaborators Jim-E Stack, Blood Orange’s Dev Hynes, Dan Nigro, Fabiana Palladino, Andrew Aged, and Buddy Ross. She also co-wrote each of the album’s eleven tracks.

Virgin acts as a rebirth for the singer. Lorde previously said of the album’s inspirations:

THE COLOUR OF THE ALBUM IS CLEAR. LIKE BATHWATER, WINDOWS, ICE, SPIT. FULL TRANSPARENCY. THE LANGUAGE IS PLAIN AND UNSENTIMENTAL. THE SOUNDS ARE THE SAME WHEREVER POSSIBLE. I WAS TRYING TO SEE MYSELF, ALL THE WAY THROUGH.

I WAS TRYING TO MAKE A DOCUMENT THAT REFLECTED MY FEMININITY: RAW, PRIMAL, INNOCENT, ELEGANT, OPENHEARTED, SPIRITUAL, MASC. I’M PROUD AND SCARED OF THIS ALBUM. THERE’S NOWHERE TO HIDE. I BELIEVE THAT PUTTING THE DEEPEST PARTS OF OURSELVES TO MUSIC IS WHAT SETS US FREE.
