She's playing her own show in New Zealand instead
New Zealand's favourite teenage superstar Lorde has pulled out of her slot at the Laneway Festival in her home country due to a scheduling conflict - but she's going to make it up.
Lorde was nominated for three Grammy Awards over the weekend and performed at the nomination ceremony, which was aired live around the world. The 17-year-old singer has indicated she will be attending the American-based awards on 26 January, meaning she will not be able to make it back for Auckland's Laneway on Monday 27 January.
Her trip will not affect any of the Australian Laneway events.
As a make-up, Lorde will perform at Auckland's Silo Park – the same venue as Laneway – Wednesday 29 January. The show will be free for Laneway ticket holders (who have bought their ticket or who buy one before 5pm local time Wednesday 8 January), while extra tickets will also be made available.

Laneway Festival is thrilled to put on a make-up show for Lorde as she continues to be globally recognised for her unparalleled work in music.”
Lorde – real name Ella Yelich-O'Connor – has been nominated form Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for her track Royals.
Australians Tame Impala and Hiatus Kaiyote also landed nominations.
