Here's what's went down.

Thousands turned out for the Don’t Kill Live Music rally in Sydney tonight, with appearances from a star-studded list of local artists and speakers.

The Hyde Park event - which will included appearances from Ocean Alley, The Rubens, Ocean Alley, The Rubens, Olympia and speakers Michael Chugg of Chugg Entertainment, Dave Faulkner of Hoodoo Gurus and more - was in opposition to the NSW Government’s “war on music and culture”, with the state’s festival scene suffering due to new policies.

If you were unable to attend but still want to make your voice heard, you sign the Don’t Kill Live Music change.org petition.

“My industry has never felt so uncertain. Promoters don’t know how they’ll be classified under the new license and we’re still yet to see a full set of regulations with guidelines, despite the fact that it’s supposed to be coming in next week. This is not a state that I want to live in. I do not support the new music festival license coming on the 1st of March. The government’s approach has been rushed. Their approach has not considered the economic impacts. Their approach shows yet again that they do not value the cultural importance of music festivals.”

“Seems to me, the low-risk festivals have a slightly older demographic then the high-risk festivals. It’s an attack on young people."
