The dance festival returns for its fourth run of dates this September and October

Australia's foremost dance-music festival (by default), Listen Out, will return for its fourth year in 2016, with promoters Fuzzy (the masterminds behind Field Day, Harbourlife, Parklife and others) announcing today that the event will hit Melbourne, Perth, Sydney and Brisbane this September and October.

Getting under way in Melbourne, Listen Out 2016 kicks off on Saturday 24 September at Catani Gardens, St Kilda, heading west to Perth to its new venue home of Western Parklands at HBF Arena, Joondalup, on Sunday 25 September. From there, it's back east to Sydney, to hit Centennial Park on the long weekend of Saturday 1 October, making its way north to Brisbane on Sunday 2 October to christen its fresh grounds at Victoria Park.

Additionally, the organisers have revealed that this year's Melbourne event will have less-restrictive noise regulations, allowing them a 10dB increase to their output, which equates to dance floors that feel literally twice as loud as they were in 2015. Local residents needn't start reaching for the complaint forms, though — the event is also upping its soundproofing features to ensure those dwelling nearby are minimally impacted by the party.

Last year's line-up featured the likes of Childish Gambino, SBTRKT, Joey Bada$$, Alison Wonderland, ODESZA and many more, and it's expected that the 2016 iteration will keep the standard raised to those lofty heights when the event unveils its roster of acts for this year in the near future.
