Lewis Capaldi has pulled out of hosting the 2022 ARIA Awards alongside Natalie Imbruglia on Thursday, 24 November.
The news was revealed in a statement shared by ARIA: "Due to unforeseen scheduling issues, Lewis Capaldi will no longer be in Australia for his planned promotional trip in November. Unfortunately, this means Lewis won't be able to attend the 2022 ARIA Awards. Lewis will be returning to Australia for his tour in July 2023. The 2022 ARIA Awards still be live and dangerous, with presenter and performer announcements coming soon!"
Now, we get to guess who will host the ceremony with Natalie Imbruglia.
The 2022 ARIA Awards Nominees were announced a few weeks ago, with Rüfüs Du Sol receiving seven nominations to stand out from a diverse and talented pool of nominees.
Other artists with multiple nominations include pub-punks Amyl And The Sniffers, DJ/producer Flume, rapper Baker Boy, singer/songwriter Vance Joy and modern pop superstar The Kid Laroi. Baker Boy, The Kid LAROI and Vance Joy scored five nominations. Meanwhile, fellow previous ARIA Awards winner, Sydney-born singer-songwriter Julia Jacklin scored four nominations alongside King Stingray, Gang Of Youths and Luude.
On the heavier side of music, the Best Hard Rock/Heavy album category is set to see Sydney metalcore monoliths Northlane (Obsidian) battle it out with Melbourne alt-metalcore act Thornhill (Heroine), NZ hard rock icons Shihad (Old Gods), Brisbane alt-indie act Dune Rats (Real Rare Whale), and Sunshine Coast punks The Chats (Get Fucked).

The Best Rock Album category will see the aforementioned Amyl And The Sniffers (Comfort To Me) fight it out with Brisbane indie-rockers Ball Park Music (Weirder & Weirder), Sydney alt-rockers Gang Of Youths (Angel In Realtime), Northeast Arnhem Land rockers King Stingray (King Stingray) and Fremantle indie rockers Spacey Jane (Here Comes Everybody) for the right to be called an ARIA Award winner.
The first live, in-person ARIA Awards show since 2019, the 2022 ARIA Awards will be available to watch live and free across Australia on Channel 9 and 9Now and streamed internationally across YouTube.
