It has today been announced that legendary Aussie music producer and sound engineer Tony Cohen will be inducted into The Age Music Victoria Hall Of Fame this year.
The news comes after the renowned industry figure sadly passed away last month at the age of 60.
Cohen worked with some of Australia's biggest names in music throughout his career, including Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, The Go-Betweens and Paul Kelly.
In 1994, he won the Producer Of The Year ARIA Awardd for The Cruel Sea's album, The Honeymoon Is Over, and picked up both Producer Of The Year and Engineer Of The Year at the 1995 ARIA Awards.
'"Tony Cohen personified the sound of Melbourne through a fertile period from the mid '70s to the '90s," editor of The Age EG, Martin Boulton, said.
"Described by long time cohort Nick Cave as a 'national treasure' and a genius, Cohen's huge influence on music in this country and beyond will continue to be felt for generations to come."
Meanwhile, public voting for The Age Music Victoria Awards 2017 will be open from The Age website from 13 October-10 November.
