Pop outfit Sheppard have held on once again to the number one spot in the top 20 of AIR's singles/EP charts for independent labels with independent distribution chart with their self-titled (Independent/MGM) EP release. Rufus nabbed the second slot from Mark Wilkinson with his track Desert Night (Sweat It Out/Xelon). Wilkinson's Middle Ground (Independent) fell to six.
While there were no debuts in the singles/EP chart, there were a couple of re-entries. Flight Facilities collab with Elizabeth Rose on I Didn't Believe (Future Classic/Independent) climbed back in at 17, with San Cisco's Beach (Island City Records/MGM) rounded out the list at 20.
There was a reshuffle in the top three of the top 20 albums released on independent labels through independent distribution chart. Big Scary reclaimed the number one spot with Not Art (Pieater/Inertia), while The Cat Empire placed second with Steal The Light (Two Shoes/Inertia). Last week's top spot holder Glass Towers were bumped down to number three with their debut album Halcyon Days (Hub/Inertia).
There were two debut entries in the albums chart this week. Pluto Jonze entered in at 17 with Eject (Stop Start/Inertia) and Ngaiire scored the final place in the top 20 with her effort Lamentations (Wantok Music Foundation/Independent). Rapper Kerser re-entered the chart with his LP No Rest For The Sickest (Obese Records), while Karnivool's 2005 hit Themata (Independent/MGM) made an appearance at 19, probably due to the hype around their just released Asymmetry record.
The '80s influenced outfit that is Bastian's Happy Flight are readying up to release their EP titled Heart/Works. The first single off the EP is Hooray, which you can check out here.
The Trouble With Templeton have a knack for creating visually stunning videos and their latest for You Are New is no different. Looks like frontman Thomas Calder is a little lonely is this one. Watch.
