Have Stevie Nicks & Lindsey Buckingham Reunited? Fans Speculate

Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, and Mick Fleetwood all seem to be alluding to something about the sole 'Buckingham Nicks' album, released in 1973.

More Fleetwood Mac More Fleetwood Mac

Have Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham buried the hatchet? If the pair’s recent Instagram posts are anything to go by, it seems that way.

A day after Mick Fleetwood posted a video of himself listening to the Buckingham Nicks song, Frozen Love, on his Instagram, Nicks and Buckingham shared lyric excerpts from the song, prompting speculation of a potential reunion between the pair.

At 3 am AEST today (18 July), Nicks posted a white image on social media with text in cursive font, which read: “And if you go forward…” Half an hour later, Buckingham shared the line’s second half: “I’ll meet you there.”

The final line of Frozen Love, from the Buckingham Nicks album – the sole album released by the pair before either of them joined Fleetwood Mac – was released in September 1973.

The album was a commercial failure. However, Mick Fleetwood heard it and was impressed with what he heard - Fleetwood Mac needed a new guitarist, but Buckingham wouldn’t join without Nicks. Then came some uber-successful albums and divorces that played out in the public eye.

In his Instagram video, Mick Fleetwood also commented on the “unbelievable” nature of the song.

“The marriage of Stevie and Lindsey, the marriage of coming into Fleetwood Mac when they did, it’s all in this song,” he said. “It was magic then, it’s magic now.”

Both Buckingham and Nicks liked Fleetwood’s post and, as fans noted, recently started following each other on Instagram.

In 2018, Fleetwood Mac fired Lindsey Buckingham. The guitarist, co-vocalist, and co-founder first left the band in 1987 before rejoining them in 1997 for The Dance, and remaining until his firing. Band members Stevie Nicks, Christine McVie, John McVie, and Mick Fleetwood were then joined by Mike Campbell (Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers) and Neil Finn (of Crowded House fame).

Christine McVie passed away in 2022, and following her passing, Stevie Nicks confirmed that Fleetwood Mac would no longer be a band. She said no such thing about Buckingham Nicks, however…

This could all be leading to a Buckingham Nicks reissue, or the album finally landing on streaming services. Either way, seeing the pair on the same page is enough to excite fans who have held onto hope and a whole lot of love for Rumours.
