Two of the biggest names in ‘80s pop music, Go West and Nik Kershaw, have announced their plans to join forces for a co-headlined Australian tour in March.
The six-date run of theatres will kick off in Kaurna/Adelaide – where on Tuesday March 5, they’ll take over The Gov – with shows at The Tivoli in Meanjin/Brisbane and the Metro Theatre in Eora/Sydney following over the next two nights (Wednesday March 6 and Thursday 7, respectively). From there, they’ll see the week out with shows in nipaluna/Hobart (playing the Odeon Theatre on Saturday March 9) and Naarm/Melbourne (the Northcote Theatre on Sunday March 10), before wrapping up the tour at Boorloo/Perth’s Astor Theatre the following Wednesday (March 13).
“The last time we were in Australia was just before the pandemic,” Go West said in a joint press statement, “so this tour is long overdue. We always enjoy playing across Australia and it will be extra special this year as we tour alongside our mate, Nik Kershaw. We look forward to seeing you all in March 2024!”
The excitement was shared by Kershaw, who added in a statement of his own: “[I’m] looking forward to getting back to Australia after so many years. We always have such a good time playing across the country. See you all in March next year!”
Tickets for all six of the shows go on sale this Friday (November 10), following an early-bird presale that kicks off at 9am local time this Wednesday (November 8). Head here to sign up for the presale, or bookmark this link for the general sale.
Kershaw’s latest album is his 2020 effort, Oxymoron, which arrived eight years after its predecessor Ei8ht in 2012. Go West have been much quieter on the music front, with their freshest offering being 2013’s 3D album.
