After an incredible run of events last year, the team behind Fridayz Live has announced that this year, the beloved travelling R&B festival will be taking a break. However, they plan to bring it back in 2027.
This isn’t the first time in recent history that Fridayz Live has taken a year off between events. The festival didn’t go ahead in 2024, with organisers stating that they couldn’t lock in a line-up “worthy enough” for fans.
This time, organisers have revealed that after last year’s edition raised the bar, they wanted to host the same experience for devoted attendees, and that’s possible in 2027.
“Some things are worth waiting for,” Fridayz Live shared in a statement on Sunday (5 July).
The team continued, “In recent years, we’ve stepped away from an annual schedule. After our 2025 series raised the bar, the goal was to return only when we could match that experience – and that is going to be in 2027.

“We can’t wait to show you what we’re working on when the time is right. Fridayz is built on creating an unforgettable experience rather than a predictable one.
“We’ll see you soon. Stay close.”
Last year’s edition of Fridayz Live was massive, locking in headliners Mariah Carey for her first Australian shows in eleven years, alongside Pitbull, who returned after thirteen years.
They were joined by Wiz Khalifa, Lil Jon, Eve, Tinie Tempah, and Jordin Sparks. The 2025 run was held at stadiums in Melbourne and Sydney, as well as at large outdoor venues in Brisbane and Perth.
Each year, Fridayz Live brings the hits of the ‘90s and ‘2000s from artists including Nelly, TLC, Craig David, Kelly Rowland, Kelis, Usher, 50 Cent, Macklemore, and many more.
The news about Fridayz Live taking a year off in 2026 follows recent announcements sharing the same news from festivals such as Adelaide’s Harvest Rock Festival and the country-focused Ridin’ Hearts, which takes place in Melbourne and Sydney.
