A month after Twisted Sister announced that their 50th anniversary tour dates had been cancelled, the ‘80s rock icons are plotting their return to the stage—with a new singer.

In addition to cancelling tour dates scheduled to take place this year, Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider announced that he’d retired from the band, citing numerous health issues. Now, the remaining founding members, Eddie Ojeda and Jay Jay French, have revealed that a new frontman will join them on the road.

Ojeda and French have teamed up with former Skid Row vocalist Sebastian Bach for an upcoming tour, but at the time of publication, the dates haven’t been confirmed.

“Twisted Sister members Jay Jay French and Eddie Ojeda are thrilled to announce that iconic vocalist and frontman Sebastian Bach will be fronting the band for a handful of select dates this fall,” a statement from Twisted Sister reads. “These appearances do not affect or conflict with Sebastian’s current or future solo touring schedule, which remains fully intact.”

Loudwire notes that Dee Snider gave his blessing for the band to continue without him.

In a recent interview on the Beardo and Weirdo podcast with comedian Craig Gass and Five Finger Death Punch bassist Chris Kael, a snippet of which you can watch below, Snider said he hoped Twisted Sister would continue with a new vocalist.

When he was asked if he thought the band could carry on without him, he responded, “I hope so.”

He also recalled that, upon the band’s 2014 reunion, he asked Bach to be his emergency fill-in if an unfortunate situation arose, but the 18 And Life singer turned down the offer.

Snider opened up about chronic health problems he’s been facing, including degenerative arthritis, in his statement about his resignation from Twisted Sister last month.

“A lifetime of legendarily aggressive performing has taken its toll on Dee Snider's body and soul. Unbeknownst to the public (until now) Snider (70) suffers from degenerative arthritis and has had several surgeries over the years just to keep going, able to only perform a few songs at a time in pain,” an update on the band’s website – and Snider’s social media – reads.

The update continues, “Adding insult to injury, Dee has recently found out the level of intensity he has dedicated to his life's work has taken its toll on his heart as well. He can no longer push the boundaries of rock 'n' roll fury like he has done for decades.”

Snider added that he’d rather leave the band than “be a shadow” of his former self.

The singer explained, “I don’t know of any other way to rock. The idea of slowing down is unacceptable to me. I’d rather walk away than be a shadow of my former self.”

The statement concluded, “In the immortal words of Dirty Harry, ‘A man’s got to know his limitations.’ Sadly, Dee Snider now knows his.”

Sebastian Bach toured Australia in November 2025, celebrating the iconic Skid Row album Slave To The Grind and playing a bunch of other classics in theatres across the country.
