It's the Swedish metal juggernauts' first new effort since 2011!
It's been about three years since we last had a new release from Swedish metal icons Opeth, but that's all set to change this month when the stalwart band's eleventh full-length album, Pale Communion, is released this month.
Led by scorching single Cusp Of Eternity, which made its way to fanatical ears a couple of months ago, in June, Pale Communion marks the wider introduction of orchestral string arrangements to Opeth's dark'n'brooding aesthetic, creating a soundscape that is inherently more mature and considered in its arrangements than what we've been used to for the better part of the past 25 years.
TheMusic.com.au is exceedingly proud to be able to present to you this Australian-exclusive stream of the new LP in its entirety, so if you figure you've waited long enough already, you can wrap yourself in the brutal blankets of Opeth below and start counting down the days to August 26.
Opeth were last in Australia in 2013 — why not check out a review of what they were like to behold in the flesh, or find out why band mastermind Mikael Åkerfeldt doesn't want you to be a total c-bomb. Pale Communion's four-star review here.
