"They're some of my best friends in the world."
The demise of beloved US pop punk outfit Yellowcard might not be all bad news, with former frontman William Ryan Key not only focusing on his solo career but potentially eyeing off a permanent spot in New Found Glory.
After Yellowcard broke up last year, the singer-songwriter joined New Found Glory on tour as a support act to promote his new EP and filled in on guitar for them on some shows.
He’s now confirmed via Twitter he’ll be playing with them on some upcoming Warped Tour dates, and speaking with The Music ahead of his debut Australian solo shows next month, Key hinted at something more permanent.
"Unfortunately I have to, kind of, pull a current White House press secretary on you and not give you a straight answer about anything,” Key said.

"I don't know, man. I would love for it to happen, you know? But right now we're, kind of, just taking it one show at a time. They're, kind of, coming off of a record cycle and stuff, so we have a lot of time to figure it out, if it's gonna happen and if it does, I'm in.
"And if it just works out where I'm playing some shows here and there, where they feel like it's right for a show and stuff, then I'll do that as well. They're some of my best friends in the world, so just to be able to work with them at all is awesome."
William Ryan Key's Australian tour kicks off September 24 in Brisbane; check out theGuide for all the details.
