The Qld duo are dropping the brew at this weekend's Blurst Of Times Festival
Celebrated Queensland thrash-pop kings DZ Deathrays are broadening their horizons with a venture into the world of brewing, teaming up with Young Henrys to launch new beer Pils N Thrills at this weekend's Blurst Of Times Festival in Brisbane.
So keen on the new collaboration is the brewery that they've even bestowed the DZ boys with the honorary title of 'Top Beer Executives', with the band preparing to sling schooners themselves for an hour this Saturday afternoon in Blurst's beer garden. You can cast aside your concerns about quality, too; this isn't your mate's bathtub home brew.
Rather, Pils N Thrills is a wholly professional limited-edition take on a Czech pilsner, boasting a "compact malt bill with a surprisingly hoppy palm to the nose", according to a statement from Young Henrys co-founder Oscar McMahon.
"No gimmicks here, mate; it's brewed to be enjoyed fast, fun and loud," he said.

"Tried home brewing, tasted like piss… tried buying beer at the pub, too expensive… brewed 86 kegs of Pils N Thrills with Young Henrys to have beer on tap, so to speak, and we might actually pull this one off!" vocalist/guitarist Shane Parsons said in a statement.
The Blurst Of Times returns to Brisbane this Saturday, 16 April, comprising shows at The Brightside, The Zoo and The Foundry from a line-up featuring the likes of Dune Rats, Bad//Dreems, Polish Club, The Goon Sax and more.
DZ Deathrays will be pouring beers from 5pm-6pm in the festival beer garden, at The Brightside. The wider festival timetable was released today.
