Featuring Kanye, Pharrell, Giorgio Moroder, Paul Williams and more
Universally acclaimed French dance duo Daft Punk have announced the worldwide launch of their documentary, Daft Punk Unchained, on 24 June on Canal+, a French premium cable channel, in France.
Produced by BBC Worldwide France and directed by Hervé Martin Delpierre, the film will be an in-depth look at the "the quest for liberty and independence of the two DJs, producers and Parisian musicians Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Momem-Christo", with frequent collaborators and muso buddies Pharrell Williams, Kanye West, Nile Rodgers and more helping to tell the story of the dance mainstays.
Featuring interview snippets from 1996 to 2013, a heap of exclusive unearthed records and documents, their work on Tron and footage from Coachella, though the Daft Punk robots didn't specifically work on the 80-minute documentary, it's said to be put together after extensive research of their two-decade-strong career.
While there's no news yet as to if and when Daft Punk Unchained will hit screens in Australia, we're sure it won't be long until fans Down Under get to peer into the men behind those helmets.
