“He would light up a room, any room he walked in. He’s a fucking good dude. I felt stupid coming out here. Like, this is so stupid, doing a show and being happy. But he would’ve wanted me to do that."

Dominic Fike has given a moving tribute to his late Euphoria co-star Angus Cloud following the actor’s shock death at the age of 25 earlier this week.

Performing a show at Houston’s 713 Music Hall on Wednesday night (July 2), Fike took a moment to reflect on Cloud’s sudden death and his choice to go on with the show amid the news.

“I guess I lost a friend of mine recently. He died the other night, which is wild to say because I don’t deal with grief often,” Fike began while playing the acoustic guitar. “I haven’t had a lot of death happen around me, and this was the first time I feel like I knew the person well enough to cry over and feel something. It was weird.”

Recalling the moment he learned of the tragic news, he continued, “I was on my way to get a massage, which sounds so fucking stupid, at the time, and I got this call. And it fucked me up, obviously. I still got the massage. I felt really stupid.”

“He probably would’ve been like, ‘Yeah, go ahead,’ you know? Even this tonight, I was sitting in the green room, and it felt… You know when things just feel trivial? You feel really small, and the timeline gets sort of stretched out.”

“I sometimes look at people like sparks. I zoom out, and I think people have wavelengths. If you zoom out far enough, you see some people — probably not a lot of us at all — but I think if you zoomed out millions of miles, you would see this kid’s spark. You could see it from so far away, even if it was a short flash.”

“He would light up a room, any room he walked in. He’s a fucking good dude. I felt stupid coming out here. Like, this is so stupid, doing a show and being happy. But he would’ve wanted me to do that. He would’ve been like, ‘No, do the show, have fun.’”

Several other cast members of the hit series Euphoria have also spoken out about their grief following the loss of Cloud, who played lovable drug dealer Fez in the series.

Zendaya penned a tribute on Instagram, where she echoed Fike’s sentiment: “I know people use this expression often when talking about folks they love… ‘they could light up any room they entered’ but boy let me tell you, he was the best at it. I’d like to remember him that way.”

Sydney Sweeney also shared a touching tribute via social media, saying it was the “hardest thing” she’s “ever had to post”.

“I’m struggling to find all the words. You will be missed more than you know, but I’m so blessed to have known you in this lifetime, and I’m sure everyone who has ever met you feels the same. This heartache is real and I wish we could’ve had one more hug and 711 run. All my love is with you,” she wrote.

TMZ revealed on Monday that Oakland PD and Fire Dept. had responded to a 911 call made around 11:30 AM Monday by Cloud’s mother, who reported a "possible overdose," and said he did not have a pulse.

Cloud was eventually pronounced dead on the scene.

His family confirmed his death in a statement to TMZ on Monday, July 31st. “It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways.”

The family revealed that Cloud had recently lost his father and “intensely struggled with this loss.”

“The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend,” their statement continued.

“Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”

“We hope the world remembers him for his humour, laughter and love for everyone. We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss.”

Along with his role on the HBO series Euphoria, Cloud was renowned for his appearances in music videos, including Juice WRLD’s Cigarettes, Becky G and Karol G’s Miamiii, and Noah Cyrus’ All Three.
