Dormant US-bred metal old salts Disturbed have sent their fanbase into something of a euphoric frenzy after taking to social media early this morning (AEST) with a new teaser video, igniting rumours of a reunion to bring to a close the band's four-year-long indefinite hiatus.
The clip is frustratingly ambiguous, amounting to a full minute-and-a-half of stilted animation appearing to show the reawakening of long-time band mascot The Guy, who came to fame as the creepy face of the band's debut full-length, The Sickness — and not much else. Not even a confirmation that The Guy actually gets to properly wake up.
In fact, the new video — which comes alongside a cryptic new "all-black" profile pic and shmick new logo — follows a nearly five-minute-long version of the same thing, which Disturbed posted to their Page early Sunday morning (AEST) — but that, too, ends before we see any real indication of life flowing through The Guy's tattered meat-sack once more. It seems the band have chosen, instead, to leave their fans hanging just a little longer for a concrete call one way or the other on just what the heck they're up to.

Somewhat incredibly, The Sickness turned 15 years old in March; this year also marks five years since the band last put out an album, with 2010's fifth studio LP Asylum standing as their most recent full-length to date. Disturbed have been on hiatus since July 2011, when they called it indefinite quits following a massive US tour and heightened conflict within the ranks.
