Rising from the ashes of the now-defunct Inland Sea
Brisbane rock outfit Deeds have unveiled the release details for the title track from their forthcoming EP, following their resurrection from the now-defunct indie orchestra Inland Sea.
Four years on from Inland Sea's separation, frontman and songwriter Beau Lindsay reunited three of his former bandmates to create Deeds. The band's reinvention resulted in a new vision and a new sound — self-described as "The National on blue meth".
Their new track is a galloping and gritty musing on desperation and relationships, boasting the punch of QOTSA or Foo Fighters.
"Exile is purely about living in a world filled with other people's expectations of you," Lindsay said. "It's a constant struggle filled with a fake idea of expression and self-absorbed motives."

The band hit the studio in 2015 with producer Govinda Doyle (Angus and Julia Stone), a familiar face from their Inland Sea days.
"The recording process can be soul destroying sometimes but Govinda knows how to handle Prima Donnas such as us," Lindsay said. "We are always demanding fresh fruits and Chamomile tea."
Deeds' new single is out tomorrow, 13 May, while their EP is set for release on 3 June.
The will be supporting The Strums at Black Bear Lodge on 14 May; for further information about their upcoming plans and movements, hit the band's Facebook page.
