The performance was predicted in a 1996 episode of 'The Simpsons' and became a reality last year.

Last July, American hip-hop group Cypress Hill performed a show like no other at the Royal Albert Hall with the London Symphony Orchestra. Soon, fans can relive or experience it for the first time as the band is set to release the performance as a live album and concert film.
What started as a joke on The Simpsons became a reality last year, almost 30 years after it was prophesied on the comedy series.
Nearly 30 years after the original Homerpalooza episode aired, in which it asked, “Did somebody order the London Symphony Orchestra? Possibly while high? Cypress Hill, I’m looking in your direction…” Cypress Hill finally performed with the London Symphony Orchestra on Wednesday, 10 July, at the iconic Royal Albert Hall.
The collaboration was teased as far back as 2017. In 2017, Cypress Hill shared a still from the Simpsons episode, with the London Symphony Orchestra X (formerly known as Twitter) account quoting the post and writing, “We mostly play classical… but we’ll give it a shot.” Cypress Hill responded, “Let's make something for real.”

The band said upon the concert announcement last March, “We are thrilled to be performing with the London Symphony Orchestra in such a prestigious venue as the Royal Albert Hall. It’s a dream come true, a collaboration only The Simpsons could have predicted.”
Cypress Hill and the London Symphony Orchestra: Black Sunday Live at the Royal Albert Hall will hit American and Canadian cinemas on Sunday, 30, Monday, 31 March, and Wednesday, 2 April.
The live album will be released on Friday, 6 June, via Mercury. The band has also released a trailer and a rendition of Illusions with the London Symphony Orchestra—check out both videos below.
“It’s a trip to see that hip-hop can be done in this form — and at a venue as prestigious as the Royal Albert Hall,” Cypress Hill’s B-Real commented in a statement. “It was truly an honour and a privilege, and now that experience can be shared.”
Cypress Hill’s Sen Dog added, “It was amazing to take this journey with the people of London who supported Cypress Hill from day one.”
London Symphony Orchestra conductor and arranger Troy Miller said, “I’ve always been excited by the idea of merging genres, and to do it with the most prolific hip-hop group of all time and the most exquisite symphony orchestra in the world was an honour! The band gave me free rein on the arrangements, and we made something truly unique and mesmerizing - what a sublime collaboration!”
Cypress Hill last toured Australia in 2023 alongside Ice Cube.
