"We really don't know what the future holds, and we don't know if this will be the last song," COG say. "And that's really what 'Walk The Line' is all about at its core."

Just weeks after announcing a run of tour dates and teasing their first new single in six years, Sydney prog rock and metal outfit COG have formally shared their long-awaited musical return.
Having spent the past few years looking to the past with tour dates and a vinyl reissue of some of their early material, COG – comprising guitarist and vocalist Flynn Gower, bassist Luke Gower and drummer Lucius Borich – have been gearing up to unveil their eagerly-anticipated new chapter.
Now, they’ve unveiled the first (and potentially last) taste of this chapter by way of Walk The Line, a propulsive piece of work which sees the group leaning into prescient themes as they also reflect on the current realities of life as a musician in 2025.
"Walk The Line expresses it all for us," explains Flynn Gower. "Life for the three of us is fucking hard at the moment, the three of us individually are struggling to just survive and keep our heads above water. When you look at the work that goes into a song like this alone, the cost and the general lack of return, it's all becoming almost impossible for us."
"Almost everyone I know is in the same boat," Gower continues, "they're on struggle street, scratching their heads and wondering how to survive. The microcosm of the music and arts industry in Australia has gotten especially tough, and we're all feeling the effects of that."
"As a band we are working on stuff, we're working towards other songs. But at this point in time we really don't know what the future holds, and we don't know if this will be the last song. And that's really what Walk The Line is all about at its core."
