Melbourne locals Coffin Wolf have announced the departure of two of their members.

Melbourne locals Coffin Wolf have announced the departure of two of their members.

Founder and guitarist Matt Griffenstein and bassist Tom Lash have both left the band.

A new member is set to be announced 'hopefully over the weekend.'

The band also discussed plans for 'a split coming out Mid year, some interstate shows' and 'preparation' for recording a new EP.

You can read their full statement below.

"Since our first gig (and possibly even our first jam) wasn't even 12 months ago, we've been pushing pretty hard and intend on hitting it even harder in 2015. Its due to this and our plans for the future that we at the Coffin Wolf camp have some sad news.

As many of you may have noticed, from the beginning we were a 4 piece and have of late only had 3 on stage. Due to family commitments, general pizza eating and growing up, Founding member and all round Legend Matt Griffenstein had stepped down from shredding on his axe.

Also Tom Lash our bassist has reignited his love for Ice Hockey and Due to scheduling issues he will be stepping down as well.

Bones Machete and myself (Chucky Lee Ray) wish both lads the best in the future. It has been amazing having them in the band, we are grateful and appreciate everything they have done for Coffin Wolf.

Although this has been tough saying goodbye to both. Coffin Wolf won't be slowing down! We have a split coming out Mid year, some interstate shows coming up, and preparation is going into recording an new EP.

We will be announcing a new member hopefully over the weekend.

But again we wish Matt and Tom all the best! Thanx guys! See you at a show!"
