Naarm/Melbourne punk trio CLAMM are gearing up to enter their new era, announcing the release of their highly-anticipated third album, and sharing a fresh preview along with it.

Having been blowing minds throughout Victoria, wider Australia, and beyond for a few years now, CLAMM have fast forged a feverish fanbase thanks to their frenetic live sets and incendiary compositions.

Making an impressive debut with 2020’s Beseech Me, the group followed it up with 2022’s Care, and most recently unveiled their Disembodiment EP just last year. Now, they’re set to end the drought of full-length releases by way of Serious Acts.

Set for release on Friday, May 30th via UK label Meat Machine, the record is set to continue showcasing the band’s impressive musical evolution, and positioning them as one of the country’s most exciting musical exports.

No more is this evolution seen than on their latest single, the impressive And I Try. Intense, raw, and emblematic of what makes CLAMM a truly commanding outfit, the track sees frontman Jack Summer utilising his arresting vocals as the lyrics ruminate on the “highs and lows of human existence”.

“This track was a bit of an experiment for us,” the band say of its creation. “We began by layering synthesised metallic loops and organically built the song from there. It introduces a slightly new sonic direction—tense yet spacious.

“Lyrically, it delves into themes of identity, transformation, and introspection, questioning how we perceive and present ourselves, and the extent of control we truly have over that process.”

CLAMM are currently in the process of gearing up for a tour of Europe and the UK throughout May and June, but they won’t be forgetting their local fans.

This evening (February 27th), the band will be bringing their electric live show to the Collingwood Yards forecourt for PBS’ Drive Live 2025, with their performance broadcast live on Fang It!.

Tomorrow, on Friday, February 28th, they’ll continue their local run with a free show at Fitzroy’s Punters Club with CIVIC, as part of Mountain Goat’s Music Month takeover. Entry is free, but be sure to RSVP now.
