[UPDATE] Glassnote Records Not Suing Childish Gambino, But Still Disputing Royalties

Regarding the rapper's streaming royalties.

More Childish Gambino Childish Gambino

UPDATE:

It turns out Childish Gambino isn’t being sued by his former label, with Glassnote Records instead reportedly filing a complaint last week for a judge to step in and mediate royalty disputes between them.

As Billboard reports, Glassnote requested a judge step in after prolonged attempts to negotiate the royalty split were unsuccessful.

Childish Gambino is reportedly being sued by his former record label, Glassnote Records, regarding streaming royalties.

As TMZ reports, the label, founded by US executive Daniel Glass in 2007, has filed a lawsuit against the US rapper alleging they are yet to be paid any streaming royalties for Gambino's music, despite him generating more than $US700,000.

It is also alleged Glassnote has already paid Gambino $US8 million in royalties, and is expected to pay another $US2 million in the next three months.

Glassnote worked with the Grammy Award-winning musician on all three of his studio albums, including 2016's Awaken, My Love!, before he joined RCA Records this past January.

Gambino is yet to publicly address the matter.

The 34-year-old is set to tour Australia this October, as well as headline Canberra's 2018 Spilt Milk festival; for more details, click on theGuide or scroll down.

The Music has contacted Gambino's Australian label for comment.
