Ed Sheeran & Harry Styles Aus Tours Result In ARIA Chart Bump

Six weeks and counting for Miley Cyrus' Flowers track at #1 in Australia. 

The seeded #1 is getting close to tying with the seven weeks her Father's first big hit achieved in October to November of 1992 when Billy Ray Cyrus logged seven weeks at the top locally with Achy Breaky Heart, while the song again remains at the top in England, Ireland (both sixth week), The U.S.A. and Canada (both fifth week), while it loses the top spot in New Zealand where it sits at #2 this week, the same position it stays at in Germany this week.

Miley Cyrus increases her overall tally of weeks at #1 in Australia to now seven, placing her outright seventh on the listing for 'Accumulated Weeks at #1: Singles (2020s)', while Flowers now joins seven other songs who've all racked up six weeks at the top during this decade, with the two most recent being Anti Hero (six straight weeks from Oct. 31st, 2022) and Unholy (six broken weeks from Oct. 3rd, 2022 {4 weeks} and then single week stays on Dec. 12th, 2022 and Jan. 9th, 2023). 

Rising one spot to land at a new peak of #2 this week are PinkPantheress and Ice Spice with Boy's a Liar (part 2), which is also in the same position in both England and Ireland, while the song claims its first #1 position anywhere in the world this week by climbing to the top in New Zealand. The artists also take their collaboration into the Top 10 in The U.S.A. (14 to #4) and in Canada (14 to #6), while locally the song swaps places with SZA's Kill Bill track, dipping a place to #3, while the fifth female act within the Top 4 this week is RAYE with her Escapism track remaining at #4 for a third consecutive week. 

Two major English solo artists are touring Australia at the moment, Ed Sheeran and Harry Styles, with Harry kicking off his national tour last week in Perth, which has helped the #1 single of 2022 in As it Was to jump back up four places to #5 and log its 38th week within the Top 10 (7th longest of all time). This is followed by two single-place rises to new peaks for Sure Thing for Miguel and Players for Coi Leray to #6 and #7 respectively.

Sam Smith and Kim Petras see their Unholy drop alongside Taylor Swift and her Anti-Hero track three places each to #8 and #9, while logging its tenth week within the Top 10 and remaining on hold at #10 is the Metro Boomin', The Weeknd and 21 Savage track Creepin'.

TOP 20

Morgan Wallen could see his first ever Top 10 single in Australia next week as his three-week-old entry continues to score new peaks, this week Last Night is up four places to land at #11, followed by a re-peak at #12 for Until I Found You by Stephen Sanchez and Em Beihold (who issued a new track on Friday called Roller Coasters Make Me Sad), the song previously placed this high on the chart on January 16th.

I'm Good (Blue) for David Guetta and Bebe Rexha is back up two places to #15 as the song cracks half a year on the chart (26 weeks), while Idol mentor and judge Meghan Trainor is stable at #16 with her former Top 10 entry Made You Look, with Tiësto and Tate McRae moving back up to #17 with 10:35, which cracks the UK Top 10 for the first time (11 to #8) and remains on hold in Ireland (#9, HP-5). 

Ed Sheeran's first climb this week is for his track Shivers, which thanks to his current national tour, is back up twelve places to #18, followed by P!nk and the title track from this week's #1 Album Trustfall, which leaps fifteen places to score a new peak at #19, while the album's first issued single Never Gonna Not Dance Again (HP-64, Nov. 14th, 2022) returns to the chart at #65 and she also debuts with a new ballad from her album called When I Get There at #92. The biggest drop within the Top 20 is a six-place slide to #20 for The Kid LAROI track Love Again, while he again issued another track on Friday, this one called I GUESS IT'S LOVE?.

TOP 30

The six rising tracks within and into the Top 30 this week starts with Central Cee's Let Go back up one spot to #21, followed by a four-place rebound to #22 for Zach Bryan and Something in the Orange. Heat Wave for Glass Animals is back up to #26, followed by a massive twelve-place jump to a new peak at #27 for George Ezra and Green Green Grass, while Ed Sheeran sees another big jump with Bad Habits, leaping fifteen spots to #29, while Nicky Youre issued a new track on Friday called Shut Me Up, but for now his former #8 song Sunroof is back up to #30 this week. 

Both dropping four places apiece are B.O.T.A. (Baddest of Them All) for Eliza Rose and Interplanetary Criminal along with Bad Habit for Steve Lacy to #23 and #25 respectively, with an eight-place slump to #28 for Beyoncé's Cuff it. 

TOP 40

This past week the IFPI Global Singles Chart for 2022 was issued, with Taylor Swift taking out the top spot, but two local acts were within the Top 5, with the PNAU remix of Cold Heart for Elton John and Dua Lipa being at #3 (non-mover at #30 nationally) and Stay for The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber at #4 (up one to #36 nationally). The other Top 40 climbers this week are Rich Flex for Drake and 21 Savage, up four to #32, and leaping back into the Top 50 by climbing twenty-nine places this week is Harry Styles with Late Night Talking at #39, with more to reveal lower down the chart for Harry. 

The two biggest falling tracks of the week are both high-ranked J100 entries, with their #1 track of 2022 for Flume and Say Nothing this week down eleven places to #35, while the biggest fall within the Top 50 this week is a fifteen place dive to #40 for Fred again.. and Delilah (Pull Me out of This), while declining in-between those two is Post Malone and Doja Cat with I Like You (A Happier Song), falling eight spots to #37. 

TOP 50

Ed Sheeran's maths tour has helped the 'Longest Charted Single' to return to the Top 50 this week, as Perfect rebounds twenty-three spots and lands at #43, while the track has now racked up 304 weeks within the Top 100, the first ever track to crack 300+ on the singles chart, while Ed also sits in the lower fifty with Shape of You (#59, #1 this week in 2017 {7 of 15 weeks}), Celestial (returns at #64), Thinking Out Loud (returns at #79), Castle on the Hill (returns at #89) and Photograph (returns at #95). 

The Weeknd just issued a duet version with Ariana Grande of Die for You (Feb. 24th), so the song might rise next week, but for this week it's down one spot to #42 and his Save Your Tears drops two to #44. Further rising tracks are Just Wanna Rock for Lil' Uzi Vert (48 to #45), Mr, Brightside for The Killers (54 to #46) and rising three spots to score a new peak of #47 is Snooze by SZA. Harry Styles sees his (now) classic track Watermelon Sugar rise back up twenty-six spots this week and land at #50, thanks to his current national tour, while lower down he is also charting with Adore You (re-entry at #80), Music for a Sushi Restaurant (re-entry at #81), and Matilda returns at #97, plus he has all three of his albums between #2 and #21 on this week's ARIA Albums Chart.
