We'll be out in force on Brisbane's streets come mid-September.
For three days in September, Brisbane becomes the sole focus of the Australian music scene as the BIGSOUND music conference and BIGSOUND Live showcase series takes over the live music hub of Fortitude Valley.
Everyone from the industry's biggest players to the coolest up-and-coming underground bands and countless artists, industry workers and tastemakers who fit in between make the pilgrimage to Southeast Queensland to meet, listen, learn, discover and connect with each other; it's where discoveries are made, lessons are learned, secrets are traded and stars are sought.
Today the schedules for the conference aspect of the event has been released, with details of the sessions – which range from Country Is Not a Dirty Word to Regulating the Australian Music Industry to Making the Most of Your Debut Recording – and the times they occur officially announced. You can view the full conference schedule right here.
This year theMusic.com.au - sponsored by and in conjunction with JMC Academy - will be on the ground trying to stick our noses into every nook and cranny of the conference and its accompanying showcases; blogging, filming, reviewing and digging up whatever dirt we can, all in the name of giving you at home the chance to feel like you're on the ground with us.

“Time Off, Drum and Inpress have been bibles for Australian music fans for as long as I can remember and theMusic.com.au is filling that digital role for the industry. It makes perfect sense that BIGSOUND partner with SPA. And they also throw a mean party.”
Graham Ashton - Executive Programmer, BIGSOUND
“QMusic is excited to partner with themusic.com.au again in 2012 and this year even if you can't be in Brisbane you can join in the BIGSOUND fun on theMusic.com.au website to hear our speakers and artists talk about the future of the music scene and what keeps them motivated.”
Denise Foley, Executive Officer, Q Music
“JMC Academy is proud to support the coverage of BIGSOUND, giving our film and television students real opportunities and experience in the Creative Industries. We believe this is an important event that highlights the calibre and commitment of Australia's music scene.”

“We can't wait to get back to BIGSOUND and expand upon the ground-breaking coverage we gave the event last year. We are most looking forward to being able to get the conference's most sought-after acts in front of the cameras to perform in theMusic Sessions and help expose them to a wider audience through theMusic.com.au.”
