Britney Spears has reportedly recorded a version of Tiny Dancer with Elton John. The two global superstars appear to have tracked the new rendition of the 1971 Elton John hit in a recording studio in Beverly Hills last week. Industry sources have hinted that the duet is set to be released by Universal Music next month.

PageSix is reporting that insiders revealed to them that the Tiny Dancer duet was Elton's idea and that hitmaking producer Andrew Watt worked on the recording.

“This was Elton’s idea, and Britney is a huge fan. They have recorded a remix of ‘Tiny Dancer’ as a full duet — and it is incredible,” "Britney was in the studio in Beverly Hills last week with Elton for the super-secret recording session overseen by uber-producer Andrew Watt.”

If and when the duet arrives, it will be Spears first freshly recorded output in six years and would mark her return to music following the end of a controversial 14-year conservatorship in 2021. Spears' last official single was 2016's Slumber Party.

The Tiny Dancer duet is a tantalising prospect and label insiders believe it has the makings of a crossover hit.

“They’ve already played it for people at their record label, and everybody is freaking out. It is so good." "They are saying this is going to be the song of the summer.“Britney is officially back. She’s back to work, and she’s super excited.”

News of Britney's return to recorded music is sure to give the performer and her legion of fans a boost, following a very difficult few years in which she has suffered a miscarriage, finally broken free of the aforementioned conservatorship, been the subject of a Netflix documentary and signed on to release a 'tell all' memoir.

One of Elton John's most iconic songs, Tiny Dancer was released in 1971 on the record Madman Across the Water, becoming a hit single for the English star in 1972. The track received a significant boost following its inclusion in a key scene of the Cameron Crowe film Almost Famous.

It is sure to feature in Johns' special ‘encore’ dates of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, set to take place in 2023.
