'Britney Vs Spears' drops next week.
A new documentary chronicling the ongoing conservatorship case of Britney Spears against her own father, Jamie, is set to premiere on Netflix next week.
Directed by acclaimed documentarian Erin Lee Carr, Britney Vs Spears is an in-depth expose into the intense censorship and silencing the popstar has endured over several years, as a result of the senior Spears' handling of her conservatorship.
Carr, who has previously directed the likes of Mommy Dead And Dearest and How To Fix A Drug Scandal, has played a pivotal role in many of the otherwise secretive aspects of the case coming to light. As outlined in the trailer, she received a number of confidential documents from an anonymous source which brought some of the more dire components of the situation to light.
The film features interviews with some of those closest to Spears and her case including former boyfriend Adnan Ghalib, as well as medical and legal professionals involved in the case.
The film was also executive produced by filmmaker Liz Gabrus, who directed the critically acclaimed What Happened, Miss Simone? - the deep dive into the life and times of jazz legend Nina Simone.
Britney Vs Spears is set for release next Tuesday, 28 September. Check out the trailer below:
