Four massive shows in January.
Music legend Elton John has confirmed special ‘encore’ dates for Australia, bringing his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour back to the country next year.
The January concerts will go down in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Newcastle, the latter of which he will play for the very first time.
Last in Australia and New Zealand in early 2020, John was forced to reschedule two Auckland dates due to illness, but before he could confirm new shows, the pandemic hit.
While confirming replacement Auckland shows, he decided to add some final Aussie dates to his trip.
After John completes his January shows, he would have played 233 concerts total in Australia throughout his career, the third most for any country outside the UK and US.

During one of his Perth shows at the start of the tour, he said: “I’ve had the best time, I’ve been so lucky, so fortunate to have had the chance to play music for a living. It’s brought me so much happiness, so many wonderful things and I’ve met so many wonderful people.
“From the bottom of my heart, I will never forget you guys…you’re in every part of my body, my soul, my heart – every fibre of my being. I’ve had enough applause to last me a million lifetimes.”
