To the dismay of local punks, metalheads, and rockers, the brilliant Brisbane record store Kill The Music closed its doors in early 2014.

While the store won't be opening its doors again, owner Paul Vore has unveiled fresh merchandise for everyone who continues asking him for a Kill The Music t-shirt.

In an announcement on Facebook, Vore shared, "After eight years of requests, we did a thing" with a link to a brand-new Kill The Music webstore. After a week of pre-orders, a new t-shirt has also been dropped to the store.

The webstore features black or white "KTM - Still Closed" t-shirts with the shop name on the front pocket and a sweet design on the back. The other t-shirt, also available in black or white, is a eulogy to the record store: "KTM RIP" is scribbled on the back of the shirt with another excellent design, with the front matching the Still Closed t-shirt variety. Anyone who buys a shirt will receive a free Kill The Music crest sticker. Pre-order your shirt here.

Vore addressed the demand for t-shirts over the last few years and said, "Kill The Music shut way back in the good old days of 2014, and I swear every year since I get an email or DM asking, 'Do You Have Any OF Those R.I.P T-shirts left??' ...it seemed like a lot of people wore them to death, which is awesome, thank you.

"Every time I got one of those messages, I would say to myself, 'I should print some more one day, someone might buy one?'...fast forward through a pandemic and weird times, I finally FUCKING DID IT!!

"So if you, or a loved one, or anyone you like really has ever been chasing a Kill The Music farewell t-shirt, here you go. And if the one you got back in 2013/14 is still going strong, THANK YOU for buying one. To everyone who bought a shirt or supported this tiny little record store in any way, THANKS!!"

Kill The Music didn't shut up shop without fanfare - Crowbar (RIP) in Brisbane held a benefit show for the record store in December 2013 with Violent Soho headlining. The Amity Affliction, Wish For Wings, The Daylight Curse, and In Ashes We Lie also honoured Kill The Music at The HiFi Brisbane.
