Bluesfest Founder, Rolling Stone Editor & More Named For Face The Music 2015

Victoria's annual industry summit takes shape for its eighth event this November

Bluesfest founder Peter NobleRolling Stone Australia editor-in-chief and publisher Mathew Coyte and a diverse array of other industry heavyweights are bound for Melbourne this November to take part in the eighth annual Face The Music conference at the city's renowned Arts Centre.

Also among the many names joining the previously announced cabal stepping up to the plate for the yearly summit of ideas, discussions, workshops and music will be Sophie Miles, of renowned local indie label and touring company Mistletone; the co-founder of the Australian Virtual Reality Industry AssociationJoel de RossMonique Rothstein, the founder of Sydney PR & artist-management agency Positive Feedback;  the China-based director of Split Works UnitedArchie Hamilton; and venerated producer/artist M-Phazes, who will field a panel all by himself, presented by Yamaha and Steinberg.

Additional panels include The Blogger, canvassing all things online-music-criticism-related — presented by the Society Of Tastemakers & Elegant People (STEP) and featuring panelists from Thump (Lachlan Kanoniuk), Tone Deaf (Lucy Dayman), Sound Doctrine (Tommy Faith), Stoney Roads (Kish Lal) and Cool Accidents (Maccy Corbett) — as well as Get A Better Lawyer, Son (featuring some tremendous legal brains including Brett OatenJennifer Tutty, Morris AverillDarren Sanicki, and Marcus Walkom), the presentation of the 10th annual The Age Music Victoria Awards, and a chance to dive deep into a select track from the catalogues of esteemed producers Casey Rice (Dirty Three, Ponyface), Anna Laverty (Meg Mac, Cut Copy, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds) and Andrei Eremin (Chet Faker, Hiatus Kaiyote, Japanese Wallpaper) as they dissect their creative processes in front of a live audience.

The eighth annual Face The Music conference will be held at Melbourne's Arts Centre from 13-14 November. Passes are available via the event's website, with discounts available for members of Music Victoria, AAM, APRA, AIR, Collarts, AIM and The Push.
