Australian EDM is killing it at the moment, that's pretty obvious no matter which way you look at it. If you needed further proof, then the revered DJ Mag Top 100 poll can give it to you, with four Aussie acts in there, all of whom have improved on their positions from last year.
The list was topped by young Dutch prog-house gun Hardwell, who returns to Australia for the Future Music Festival early next year, with last year's number one Armin van Buuren – who is here later this year for Stereosonic – drops down into second place.
The highest ranking Australian act on the list is NERVO, the disgustingly talented duo of sisters Mirian and Olivia Nervo, who have been kicking arse as songwriters, DJs, producers and models for years now. They're probably really good at sports and maths as well. But don't hate them, they're representing Australia at number 16 on the list in 2013, up a massive 30 spots from their ranking last year.
Not far behind them is Knife Party, the newish electro house/dubstep project from former Pendulum members Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen. They find themselves up eight spots from where they sat last year, ranking at number 25 on the chart.
Grammy nominated artist Tommy Trash has also managed a better result than last year, sitting in 55th spot, seven places higher than where he was last year, while the Gold Coast's Stafford Brothers find themselves on the chart for the first time with their 90th position.
The chart is published by the British magazine each year.
