Iron MaidenIt seems that British heavy metal icons Iron Maiden are plotting their return to Australia and New Zealand, sharing a teaser video for fans on social media.
Iron Maiden are currently on their Run For Your Lives World Tour, which is looking to stop in Australia and New Zealand later this year. In the video, the band’s mascot, Eddie, packs a suitcase with items including an All Blacks guernsey, a cricket bat, and a boomerang.
The caption? A cricket bat, a football, and a kangaroo, followed by the hashtag: #RunForYourLivesWorldTour2026.
At the time of publication, no tour announcement has been confirmed, but with a teaser clip out there, it can’t be far away. You can watch the video below.
Iron Maiden last performed across Australia and New Zealand in September 2024 on their The Future Past tour. The shows marked their first in the region since 2016 – a follow-up tour was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
During that run, Iron Maiden and special guests Killswitch Engage performed in arenas in Australia and New Zealand.
“We’re all really excited to finally be able to return to Australia as we know our fans have waited so patiently for us over the past few years,” said bassist and founding member Steve Harris upon the last tour announcement in late 2023.
“It’s going to be great to get back there, especially with this new show. We promise you all, it’ll be worth the wait!”

The band’s manager, Rod Smallwood, added: “All our best-laid plans to bring the Legacy Of The Beast Tour to Australia were derailed by the shutdown of the live music industry during COVID, but we assured everyone at the time that we would come back to Australia and, as our fans know, we always keep to our promises.
“So, as you would imagine, we’re very much looking forward to bringing this amazing new show to the Southern hemisphere and giving our loyal Australian fans the best Maiden show we can. You can be assured it’s worth the wait. See you all in 2024!”
During their last tour, Iron Maiden were promoting the album Senjutsu. In addition to showcasing some new songs, the band played the classics, including Stranger In A Strange Land, The Prisoner, Wasted Years, The Trooper, and the singalong epic Fear Of The Dark.
Reviewing their show at Perth’s RAC Arena in 2024, The Music’s Jake Fitzpatrick wrote: “Despite their long career, this is a band that clearly still has it.
“With a setlist spanning their illustrious career, a production that was nothing short of spectacular, and an electrified crowd, the evening was a testament to why Iron Maiden remains one of the greatest bands in rock history.”
