“We are excited to see what ideas are brought to the table from entrepreneurs around Australia."
The Australian Institute Of Music (AIM) are calling for entries into the first ever Hackathon - a competition where entrants are asked to develop an original business idea that addresses physical or mental wellness in the local music industry.
Created in partnership with ARIA, entrants will "have the option to utilise a selection of materials in the competition sandbox including over 100,000 music tracks".
Stephen Hunt (former MD of Emerging Technology and Media at UMG) and Timo Kugler (mentor at The Founder Institute) will mentor the entrants before going to the judging panel made up of Jacqui Louez Schoorl (Founder of Jaxsta), Nicc Johnson (Founder of Muru Music Health) and Andrea Culligan.
The winner will receive a $5,000 cash prize.
“We are excited to see what ideas are brought to the table from entrepreneurs around Australia for the AIM Hackathon, and to put the focus on the important subject of physical and mental health," AIM Chairman Ed St John said.
"As an organisation we’re always keen to unearth and develop the future leaders of the industry, so this is a fantastic opportunity for all involved.”
