The Adelaide Guitar Festival, held biennially in the South Australian capital, boasts the honour of being Australia’s largest guitar festival. First held in 2007, the festival - which is, in fact, a sister event to the prestigious New York Guitar Festival - features an abundance of local, national, and international artists across an eclectic range of genres. The one thing tying it all together is the guitar, of course.

And now the first shows of the 2025 iteration of the Adelaide Guitar Festival, set to take place in September, have just been unveiled.

Led Zeppelin’s Physical Graffiti Live in Concert will make its world premiere at the Adelaide Guitar Festival on Saturday, September 13th. This one-night-only extravaganza is slated to transform Her Majesty’s Theatre and elate Adelaide audiences.

This concert will celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the iconic 1975 Led Zeppelin album Physical Graffiti, featuring the contributions of stellar musicians such as Dusty Lee Stephensen, Kathleen Halloran, Danny Leo, Warwick Cheatle, as well as the Southern Cross Symphony Orchestra, and a powerhouse vocal lineup including Zkye Compson-Harris and Shaun Holton.

Tickets to what is sure to be a rock tribute that brings the house down are already available online here.

The second performance that has been announced is Consonance: Instrumental Conversations with Guitar - something completely tonally different, indicating that the Adelaide Guitar Festival is sure to have guitar work for everyone.

The event is described as showcasing “exchange and confluence between world-leading musicians.” Consonance will feature such eclectic, virtuosic musicians as Aleksandr Tsiboulski and violinist Dr Elizabeth Layton, Head of Classical Performance at the Elder Conservatorium of Music. Also joining the performances will be Artistic Director Slava Grigoryan and his key collaborator in life and music, cellist Sharon Grigoryan. The concert will be opened by the 2025 Adelaide Guitar Festival Orchestra, led by the vivacious and talented Dr Paul Svoboda.

Tickets for this magical evening are available to purchase online here.
